Brent Lawrence , Esq.
CEO and Managing Attorney
Professional Experience:
Brent founded Business Law Ventures in 1998 after working as an
associate for Gilles Attia at the law firm of Graham & James
(now known as Gray Cary). At Business Law Ventures, Brent has
specialized in four primary areas: (1) Mergers & Acquisitions,
(2) Corporate Securities, (3) Business Planning and Contracts,
and (4) Real Estate Development. Specifically, at Business Law
Ventures Brent has handled numerous acquisitions, facilitated
over 25 private stock offerings, formed over 100 Corporations
and LLCs, written over 20 business plans, and facilitated
numerous joint venture and financing agreements. For a more

Ventures to the booming Roseville area and now shares office
space with the venture capital/real estate development firm
Granite Bay Ventures.
In 1997 at Graham & James, Brent assisted Level One
Communications in consummating a $115 Million convertible note
offering (prior to Intel's acquisition of Level One for $2.2
Billion). Brent also assisted USCS International in its SEC
compliance issues and led several acquisitions for a variety of
Sacramento and Bay Area based companies. He also assisted the
Graham & James' San Francisco office in completing a $10 Billion
debt restructuring for Rykoff-Sexton, one of the world's largest
conglomerates.
Prior to joining Graham & James, Brent worked for the law firm
of Peter Aylward & Associates in San Diego from 1994 to 1996.
Peter Aylward was the former head of the Corporate Tax
department at Gray Cary's San Diego office before starting his
own firm. At Aylward & Associates, Brent participated in every
aspect of taking Host Funding, Inc. to a successful Initial
Public Offering. Host Funding was a publicly traded REIT
consisting of hotel properties. Brent's work for Host Funding
included facilitating the commercial real estate acquisitions,
drafting the documents for the IPO, negotiating with the SEC and
the investment bank responsible for the IPO, and directing Host
Funding's SEC compliance program. Also at Aylward & Associates,
Brent consummated several private stock offerings and
acquisitions.
Personal:
Brent grew up in San Diego, CA where he spent his younger years
splitting time between his studies and basketball. After high
school, he went on to play basketball at U.C. Riverside where
his team made the Division II Final Four in 1989. From 2000 to
2002, Brent was a basketball coach at Christian Brothers High
School. Brent is single and lives in Sacramento, CA.
