Matt
has been involved in Rapid Prototyping since its inception in
the late 80¹s, and has witnessed firsthand the transformation of
the industry. He has worked for some of the largest prototype
service bureaus, including ARRK and Plynetics throughout the
90¹s, and now manages business relationships for Titoma, Ltd., a
leading Product Design, Prototyping and Tooling Services
company, based in Taiwan, and Rapid Product Solutions, a
Southern California based RP Service Bureau.
In recent years manufacturing firms have increasingly relied on
lower cost labor in Asia for tooling and injection molding.
Titoma complements these processes by offering design,
engineering and prototyping capabilities in addition to
production manufacturing in order to help companies further
reduce costs and minimize communication problems. Yet, many
companies prefer to use domestic prototype sources in order to
interface more closely with their design and engineering teams.
Titoma and RPS have formed an alliance, giving firms the best of
both worlds, and the ability to choose the product development
and manufacturing process that best fits their needs.
Rapid Prototyping technologies have evolved throughout the last
decade, and new materials and equipment seem to emerge at an
even faster pace. Matt has a wealth of experience in using
numerous technologies, including SLA, SLS, FDM, Rapid Tooling,
and Desktop Modeling, and has an understanding of where these
processes fit certain product applications. |
