MISSION
The
IPT Company mission is to foster invention and innovation of new products and technologies that will better society, lifestyle, and the environment.
PURPOSE
Patents in Commerce (PIC) was formed as a collaborative partnership between public and private sector organizations to provide a worldwide learning resource for inventors and innovators. Our primary purpose is to provide a logical, process-driven system to nascent inventors and businesses with the goal of significantly increasing their success and thereby creating a positive impact on the economy.
OBJECTIVE
PIC's objective is simple, straightforward. That is...to show innovators the proper methods of invention development and commercialization and help them become successful. With that knowledge, inventors will learn how to balance their responsibilities to their business, society, the environment and stockholders, while being guided away from the hazards, pitfalls, and questionable suppliers of invention development services. This founding principle drives the PIC system.
THE SYSTEM
Patents in Commerce is structured as a complete system that covers all the critical steps required to launch a profitable innovation. Inventors applying the PIC system are confident about their outcomes since it is time-tested and proven by an incredible collection of experts who have commercialized billions of dollars in inventions (you'll see just a few of these throughout our web pages). Based on the book, From Patent to Profit, the system covers:
- idea creation
- patent searching
- patent development
- hiring attorneys and service providers as may be required
- design and prototyping
- personal, financial and business planning
- marketing and sales
- licensing and partnering
- government assistance
- manufacturing options
- government funding and private funding sources
- introduction to legal business entities
- overview of trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights
